ImageThe Rotary Club of Hillcrest-Sunrise continued its support for the Special Olympics bowling event.  This year it was held on May 11th at the Free Way Lanes in Wickliffe, OH.  Twelve Rotarians represented the club, volunteering at the event along with their spouses and children.

Special Olympics is the world's largest sports organization for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, providing year-round training and competitions to more than 4 million athletes in 170 countries. Bowling is among the most popular sports in Special Olympics.  It is a particularly beneficial sport to people with intellectual disabilities, irrespective of their age or sports abilities, since it ensures physical exercise and at the same time participation and social integration.
